The unique Get Set For School™ program helps children make a seamless, natural transition from pre-school to kindergarten through a holistic, play-based method.

Since its inception in 2003, the program has reached thousands of children across the country, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

As a result of its innovative approach and record of success, the Get Set For School™ program received the prestigious Association of Educational Publishers Distinguished Achievement Award and the Learning Magazine Teacher’ Choice Award.

In 2008 both the Workbook and Teachers Guide Editions and the Rock, Rap, Tap & Learn CD won Distinguished Achievement Awards.

Children progress at different rates and Get Set for School encourages this progress by including a variety of activities for prewriting and early writing skills. It allows for differentiation and offers so many ways to reach all students.

The program helps prepare our students for kindergarten. It provides direction in the basic tools needed to write. We like the focus on lines and curves and the emphasis on grip. The children enjoy the activities—especially Mat Man, tapping the lines, using the chalkboards, and matching the Wood Pieces to the card.

Parents see the connection and importance of the progression of skills as their child moves through our program.

The fine motor development aspects of the program are very helpful. There are some great tips for strengthening muscles, finger plays, and fun activities for all four- and five-year-olds.
